We pay about £76 a month for gas electric, i know martin was on the TV recently and said two of the big guns have fixed tarifs?
Cheers

Using a comp site with your annual kWh figures will give you the answer in seconds. Since we don't know your consumption or your region, no one can otherwise tell you what is best. Then you need to decide if you want a fixed or a variable tariff.
But if you want either the EDF or SP fixes then you need to act today as these are about to be pulled, if they haven't been already.
The BG tariff is just their Standard Variable offer, nothing very amazing about it.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
aahhh thanks for the reply.
i think we will go with a fixed term, had a quick look and BG do have a fixed term but you have to fill a load of bunf in then get a quote first!
thanks again0 -
For me BG fixed is coming out at £260 a year dearer than SP so there seems to be nothing good about them !!
As macman stated, go to one of the price comparison sites listed here http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/latesttip/ , input a few simple details including, and most importantly, ANNUAL kWh and see what comes out0 -
A 'load of bumph' on any comp site means filling in your poscode and two kWh figures (assuming a dual fuel tariff), which are quoted on your annual statement. Hardly a lot of work in order to save up to £300-it should take no more than 5 minutes. Then switch via a cashback site.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

I too am on Websaver 12 which gives a 6% discount. I believe there is another online tariff that also gives 6% discount so will be checking out that one for myself when this one expires.Self Employed, Running my Dream Jobs0

same position as OP.
Websaver12 ended.
I accepted their offer of the online variable November 2013 tariff.
When I did a uswitch search, I could have saved about £240 more but it would have meant going with a company I've not heard of before. All the other major players were less than £100 cheaper.
IMHO that amount of saving was not worth the hassle. Recent experience of EDF vs british gas house move did not leave much confidence.0 -

Your choice entirely. The only point I will make is that tariff maturity in November 2013 dumps you back on the market and subjected to future unknown pricing right at the beginning of winter.
You may not like Edf, but Edf and Scottish Power (hardly unheard of companies) both offer competitive fixed rate tariffs (with no early termination charges) maturing in 'spring' 2014.0 -
I would count EDF and Scottish Power as big players. There were others I have never heard of.
Fixing was tempting but I work on the principle that they are out to make cash not perform charity. Like mortgage companies they push fixed rates when prices are falling. Only time will tell. Knowing my luck if I fixed, prices will fall.0 -
Which is why EDF Blue + Price Promise April 2014 was a no-brainer. No lock in.No free lunch, and no free laptop0
