Just listening to Stephen Cruise on Radio Ulster - pathetic waffle, wouldn't trust a word of it. "Come in and talk to us" aye right!
UB should have given all customers a generous compensation payment recognising the biggest !!!! up in world banking history. The point was well made on radio about the comparison with how O2 dealt with a relatively minor issue recently and compensated all customers whether they were affected or not. That was PR handled correctly. As for 0.06% additional interest for 3 months - words fail me.0 -
I am not an Ulster Bank company and do realise that a lot of people did have serious problems when this issue was happening, however I have also heard quite a lot of my friends complaining that it cause them to go massively overdrawn.
I don't see how this was possible (in their cases). They are mostly on benefits and knew that say £100 was due into their account every Monday. Why then did they go to the hole in the wall and lift out more than this, why lift out money that went into their account when they knew it wasn't theirs, how did they think they were going to pay this back when Ulster Bank finally sorted out their mess.
These same people now have the cheek to complain about the £20 payment, how it isn't even going to cover the debt they got into over this matter.
Like I said I know some other people who suffered and deserve the money to be paid to them, but I do believe some people are taking advantage of this as well.;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)0 -
While I agree in part with your comment. we are all aware of our income and people certainly did take advantage of the situation and they will not be able to avoid paying back. However the majority I believe are honest and through no fault of there own have ended up in a mess. I know of people who still have missing payments. It does not change the fact that £20 is an insult. My bank account was inoperable for over 3 weeks due to a mistake by the Bank I had kept track of money going in and out of my account there mistake not mine but it was me who had no access to online banking and had to make numerous trips to the bank to practically have to beg for my own money. So yes some took advantage the vast majority did not and the £20 insult is nothing more than another slap in the face..... I gave mine to charity0

Don't know about anyone else, but i will take that post from you with a large pinch of salt.0 -
About a week ago, I set up an Ulster Bank online advance electronic payment.
All of evidence of it has subsequently disappeared!
Has anyone else suffered such a problem?0 -

Quite easily in fact.In my case, the Ulster paid a couple of bills after I had cancelled the direct debits &,because of the mess they were in,the payments only showed up in my account at the end of July.
Now one of my payments was recalled & an indemnity claim was recieved my my car insurers, but the other one had gone thru.Worst thing was,for me,I'd paid the one that has gone thru from my new Barclays account,so I paid twice, the other I was aware of & was waiting to see what happened.0
