£20 Ulster Bank Compensation Joke

Unbelievable of the Ulster Bank to offer £20. When I heard news of an announcement yesterday I speculated on possible figures and wondered if £100 would be enough for the shambles caused.

Twenty Pound 'Incident' payment made into my bank today...
So if you live in the country & have to travel to your nearest branch that is open, say a thirty mile trip each way,& have to do this three times, then this twenty quid will barely cover your petrol!0 -

It's a bit of an insult, isn't it?
I believe the £20 payment is only automatic if you had to go into a branch - otherwise you need to contact them and grovel for it.
Not likely ... time to look around for better banking deals. After over 20 years I don't really feel any more attachment to this bank.0 -
I have been with them over 42 years, but this £20 insult has turned me against them. I will be looking to move elsewhere over the next month or so, but I will keep a minimal amount in my account so the barstewards can administer it for ever at their cost!
Surely some of the oppostion will come up with a good deal to switch. I see First Direct are offering £100 and free overdraft up to £250, if you lodge £1500pm with them.0 -

Won't work if report in Bel Tel is correct.
"Elsewhere, Ulster Bank has given a commitment to delay the introduction of maintenance fees for all personal current account holders until July 2013"

OK will close it on 30 June 2013. Their loss, they could have had my pension lump sum to invest next year too.0

I would advise anyone never to take investment advice directly from any of our banks.0

Did you notice I said "could" BigAl94!0

If I didn't leave before, I will now. Hearing good reports about Nationwide. Still shaking my head in disbelief.0
