Heads Up - Text suposedly from MBNA

Just wanted to warn people as i can find nothing about this on the web

I recieved a text today:

+447860010444: We'd value your feedback on a recent call about your MBNA Point Credit Card ending XXXX (was correct 4 digits). Reply OK to recieve 1 of 2 questions.
Standard network charges may apply.



I was suspicious as i have not spoken to MBNA for a long time as i deal with my account online so i phoned them and they have no knowledge of this message and tell me all their texts come from a 5 digit short text number.

I'll bet you that this is just something that the particular phone operator you spoke to doesn't know about. You'd expect mbna to let their staff know that they are doing this kind of thing, but I bet they don't.

possible but as i said the reason i was suspicious was that i have not spoken to them by phone for months

According to their website at http://mbna.co.uk/card-services-benefits/mobile-text-services/ the text number they list is +447860010010 which is in the same range.

I had one of these also, I rang MBNA who said it was them. Confusion again from MBNA!
