software/spreadsheet to work out investment performance?

Hi All,

I was wondering what people use to do this?

I currently have a company pension, where I contribute to a few different funds. I can go online to view current value, units held etc and I can also see my historic transactions, unit purchase price etc.

Is there software or a spreadsheet out there where I can input all this data to track returns?

Thanks in advance!:T

some company pension's i think turn up at sites like TrustNet and Morning Star , but you need to know exactly what it's invested in, because some of the names can be a little tricky.

Set up your portfolio in Yahoo Finance, paying attention the one-off + percentage fees on the buy transactions - Yahoo lets you enter these.

Yahoo will then track the performance of individual shares + the portfolio for you in real time. Quick & dirty but actually quite effective.

I prefer the Google Finance portfolio site - the Yahoo one has come up with some very odd "funnies" from time to time, like an apparent 5000% daily gain on a stock that was temporarily suspended at the time.

Thanks all, the problem I have is the funds are put together for the company, so they are not on web sites like trust net for me to track. So I need something where I can put in my own data?
