Returning a Bike to Cash Generator

Hi,

I bought a bike yesterday from Cash Generator, I realized there was a problem with the breaks but knew I would be able to fix it so I bought it.

On the way home I didn't ride it due to it being unsafe with regards to the breaks, when I got home my father immediately said that bike is too big for me and I should take it back as even with the breaks fixed it would be dangerous.

Disregarding my fathers advise I got on the bike while I was in our garden, didn't even ride it just sat on the saddle while I held myself up against the wall. I could immediately tell it was too big for me once I had gotten on it.

I'm worried that I won't be able to take it back, it says nothing on the receipt about being able to do so.

So I guess ultimately the question is because I bought it second hand does it affect whether I can return it or not?

Thanks,

It doesn't matter whether it was brand new or second hand you don't have an automatic right to return an unwanted item. It will be down to Cash Generators returns policy or their managers discretion.

I've looked on their website but I can't see anything about their in store policy although there is a contact us section if you wanted to ask them before dragging back to store. Otherwise it's a trip back there to ask them.

I emailed them so hopefully I get a response soon, they don't have a number or I would have called.

It was pretty busy at the time and despite the breaks being broken as I could fix them it seemed like a good deal.

They are brakes by the way, not breaks. (Same letters, different order). ;)

So your dad could tell straight away it was too big yet you couldn't?

Takes 2 seconds to sit on a bike, are you sure it isnt just buyers remorse?
