disabled tax disc?

A friend is confused for their disability tax disc,

but the car is not registered on 'their' name.

they have:
-Dla, higher component mobility + confirmation letter
-the carsMOT
-car insurance
-the cars registeration document from DVLA (which isn't registered to them)

Can they still get a disability road tax, on that vehicle -

Yes, quite often the insurance company will insist that the car is registered to the main driver anyway.

Dont forget that when its time to take the disabled class back off this car and reclassing it plg, it can only be done by either sending the v5 to the dvla or going in person to a local dvla office.

Here's the full SP on exemption from car tax:

"............Who can apply for a free disabled tax disc

Get a free disabled tax disc

See the following link to find out how to apply.
    • To apply for a free disabled tax disc, the vehicle must be either:
    • registered in your name
    • registered in the name of someone who only uses their vehicle to help you – for example, takes you shopping
You’ll need an exemption certificate to get your free disabled tax disc. You may be entitled to receive an exemption certificate if you’re receiving:
    • Disability Living Allowance - higher rate of the mobility component
    • War Pensioners Mobility Supplement
    Exemption certificates

If you’re getting Disability Living Allowance, your exemption certificate could be either a:
    • certificate of entitlement to Disability Living Allowance (DLA)
    • annual certificate of entitlement
    • DLA 404 certificate
These exemption certificates are issued by the Pensions, Disability and Carers Service

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset. ;)
