and all seems to be fine.... so will be changing from Electric 10 Kw power shower to my traditional hot water tank power shower. Not sure it will save me much if anything as will use more water and the pump uses electricity BUT I like the idea of using as much of my PV generated. This will only help in some small way as I estimate that I export 70% of generation.

Yes from what I can see - there seems to be a price war going on against other/certain device manufacturers, plus it was initially a Bank Holiday special which was unforeseen, hopefully which will continue to the advantage of other Solar Immersion purchasers. :j

The main thing is getting a Solar Immersion unit in the first place to heat your HWC and/or power the secondary replay (upto 4kw load ) , as that is the only way to save additional monies, in addition to your existing FiT tariff & export tariff payments !!!!!! :)

Went for my shower last night and power shower pump not working.... its only wired to a spur off the immersion heater!!!! Now until I can put in a new socket I can only shower when the sun is shining LOL :rotfl:(I still have the existing electric one so not a real issue).
Tested the system by running an extension to the pump from the spare bedroom and the water was certainly hot enough so I am sure when I get it all sorted I will be very happy.

Hence why fitting our SolarImmersion unit directly in the airing cupboard suited our setting better. :)

All sorted... socket re connected via ring main so should all work "forever" Tank immersion set to 60 and gas set to 50, shower mixer set at 48. Very little gas used at all this week (gas hob) and since installation of immersun last Monday morning (5 days ago) my electric meter has only moved 17 units and I have had a tank full of hot water every day. As stated before it wont pay for itself for many years but it makes me feel good to use more of what I generate.

Just fitted my Solar Immersion unit.
Looks like a quality bit of kit, appears well made & all the instructions clear & well laid out.
Only thing that concerned me when fitting the unit was the fitting of the sensor clip on the incoming cable.
I would have presumed it would have been a tight fit when you clipped it on.
It just fits loosely..........Solar Immersion say that this is OK.....
Only snag now is ...........no sun & none forecast for the next few days :mad::mad:
I want to see it working !!!!:D:D:D

Slight common sense issue with the instructions.. tells you that you may need to rewire the sensor if the reading gives 100% when panels are switched off. Mine worked fine first time but if it hadn't I would not have opened the case and rewired, I would just have turned the sensor round.
ps I still have the immersion heater "on" indicator light glowing very dimly even when no power is supposedly being diverted anyone have an idea why?

Are you suggesting it brightens when on full power divert ???

ps> My light stays on 24 x 7 bright as bright, naturally as its a live spur to the Solar Immersion device .....

I think it does brighten when on full power divert..... maybe its my old eyes playing up, that would explain how I missed the decimal point on my meter reading highlighted in response to another post of mine :rotfl:
