we have a day passes that let us go in several events "based on availabilty" for the olympic park on sat and one for excel on sunday
has anyone used one of these yet?
were you able to see what you wanted?
what time did they let you go in the events?
oh is panicing that as most events are sold out we wont get to see anything
we do have athletic tickets for sat evening as well but we are planning to arrive before 9am to get our moneys worth

I was wondering this too. I have one for Sun and an Excel one for following Sat. Any advice would be much appreciate.0

Have you checked out the events on the telly to see if they have seats free? The basketball seemed to be really popular.
I was very disappointed to see so many empty seat at the Aquatics Centre when I watched the events last night - is it really sold out???? Are people just not staying to tne end? I admit I only caught the last few events.
I noticed loads more tickets were released for athletics yesterday (seemed to sell out immediatly as usual) - where do these all suddently appear from!! I would love to get velodrome tickets but these seem to go very fast and I've missed out so far. I must be the only person in the world who doesn't have an iphone to set up a twitter alert!Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!
Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!0 -
Juliebunny, if you really want velodrome tickets i reccomend you do set up twitter alert. i hadnt and kept trying for tickets, gave in and got an account and the next day i managed to get tickets, it's definatly the best chance of getting them.
I reckon we'll aim for an hr before each event starts as we are aiming to go to the GB matches.0 -
I was at the Excel today and it was fine. We arrived early for the 9am sitting volleyball, which was GB women. Expected it to be really busy but we went straight in and it wasn't full at all, though filled up as the session went on.
The Excel place filled up as the day went on, but we got into everything we wanted no problem apart from after lunch when everyone tried to go to the Sitting Volleyball at 2pm as that was the only sport going on at that time, otherwise there was always space everywhere.
If you have tickets for a specific session then you can enter via a different (quicker) queue for that session and seemed to get seats in a slightly better area.0 -
we were at Excel yesterday (saw Ben Quilter win his bronze medal :T). We had session tickets for the judo, and that automatically gives you a day pass for Excel too. Our session began at 4pm, we got there slightly after that, the judo venue was busy but they were still letting all-day pass holders in right the way through the afternoon and evening.
The food stalls were all quiet, no queues for the toilets, for security on entry, nothing - it was a fantastic experience and I can't wait for our Olympic Park session on Monday!

Fab - I've got Excel days seats Monday and Tuesday (plus evenign sessions in the Park, so it's great to know I'll be able to see one of each event.0

I was at ExCel on Thursday and can report exactly the same experience, including missing the 2pm sitting volleyball! Basically if it's something you really want to see, make sure you're there early, but usually you don't miss anything. It all worked out really well and there wasn't much waiting around at all, considering. An amazing experience for practically pennies!0

I'm really sorry to hijack this post, but I am desperate to start a thread and I have totally forgotten how to. Could someone please PM me telling me how to make a post. Thank you so much, and once again sorry for putting this on this post.'No one can make you feel bad without your permission'

One tip I have for Excel that may not apply to everyone. When you arrive from Custom House there's a pub-type bar near the entrance. If you fancy a pint, that's the only place except inside the waiting areas of the venues - don't wander the whole length of Excel assuming there will be a proper bar at the other end :beer:0
