PayPal withdrawal to bank account now instant

Just for info really...

I withdrew some money from my paypal account to my bank account tonight. It normally takes 3-5 days unless you pay £5 for the expedited transfer which takes a day.

When I clicked on the transfer a message flashed up that due to a security check my payment was pending (or something similar). I then checked my bank account and it was already showing in my account just a few minutes later. About 15 minutes later I got an email from paypal confirming the transfer had gone ahead:
Funds will take up to 2 hours to appear in your bank account, but may take longer, depending on your bank.
In between the security message and checking my bank I googled and could only find t&c's that suggest the transfer will take 3-5 working days so it must be a fairly new thing.

There was a long thread about this a few weeks ago - it seems to only work for a few people at the moment so you're one of the lucky ones!

It happened to me this week as well, said it would be in my bank around 2 hours later, but then they 'reviewed' the withdrawal (all of £6) and it arrived the next day. Still better than 3-5 days though!

    Hey guys!

I wanted to know if the instant transfer works in Canada too for paypal business account???

    Thanks in advance!
  • If you cannot locate the page on the Paypal websites just call Paypal , and they can quickly talk you through / explain HOW TO set up your INTERNET banking from being the basic slow Direct Debit system to the new FPI and FPO system it is there inside a minute when you transfer in or out of Paypal ( my bank debit card /bank settings for FPO are set for it now)

It is great you transfer instantly if you change mind or make an error you can instantly send the money back to the account instantly.

but ps, PURCHASING goods with a zero balance at Paypal will still take 3-5 bank days to show at your bank, as that is not the same as fast pay in and fast pay out, it is bank transferring/debitting.
NB...People online who are here asking advice for "my friend" they really mean "myself"
  • I think the first time you set up a fast pay, perhaps both your bank and/or Paypal monitor it but after that its instant and not subject to a hold :)

Wouldn't a website in Canada be more useful?
I'm sure there are Paypal related message boards on Ebay in Canada.
    .
  • Can I get some help please.

I have recently opened a paypal account, Fully verified it etc.

I was trying to find the £5 fast payment thing but couldnt find it. So I googled and found out that its now instant unless it gets reviewed so I requested £89 to come out.

The withdrewal screen is no different to the one it used to be a year or so ago when I used to have an account and I didnt get any message to say it would take 2 hours or whatever.

I requested the money 3 days ago,. And it just says pending.

Do I have a different paypal to everyone else? As iv not got an email saying its being reviewed. I got the normal "Thank you for your request, Your payment can take upto 72 hours" "However it may take longer if we decide to review it"

Any help would be really appreciated as I have no idea how I seem to have different to everyone else! The paypal looks just the same as it did 2 years ago and the withdrewal was the same and looks the same only thing missing for me is the £5 option.

I have read people say when you go to withdrew it can say either "up for 24 hour review or 2 hour review" etc etc but I got none of that.

I got the simple. amount - to - wothdrewal fee - then continue then the next screen just says "it can take upto 72hours for your funds to appear!

    HELP!

As it is a new account it may well be subject to holds. The fact you were told 72 hours suggests that is the case.

For first few months of using my new PayPal business account withdraws were kept pending for a few days. I got round this by sending the money as a gift to my personal PayPal account and withdrawing it instantly that way.
