Please can anyone give me some advice on sending items to Malta/Belgium?

Hi,

I need to send 2 items they each weigh 2.4kg.

One item needs to be sent to Malta the other to Belgium.

Does anyone have any reccomendations for couriers etc Apparently Royal Mail do not send items to Europe that weigh more than 2kg. I would have to use parcelforce which would cost over £30!!

Any advice or reccomendations would be great,

Thanks in advance,

I think you are going to get a better price to Belgium than you will for Malta as it can go by road or train fairly easily and is nearer. Malta will involve an additional ferry or travel by air. Some carriers will charge you more if the parcel is large (length x width x height in cm divided by 6000) gives a volumetric 'weight'. If this comes out at more than the actual weight you will be charged the volumetric weight. Parcel Force at the PO just seems to work on the weight and don't worry with the volume. They will ask for the dimensions if you go to their web site and get it collected.
