GoDaddy

http://www.godaddy.com seem to have some pretty decent hosting deals - the most webspace and bandwith I have seen for my money. Although prices are in US dollars, if convert these to UK Sterling, 5GB space, 250GB bandwith for $3.95 (£2) month OR 100GB space, 1000GB Bandwith for $6.99 (£3.70) month.

Does anyone know of cheaper webspace for your money?
Has anyone used them?

    Hi All,

I too was thinking of moving to GoDaddy shortly, due to their quite good pricing!

I emailed them the other day with regards to how domain aliasing worked and I got proper replies to each email within just a few hours which is always a good sign.

The also supply mySQL databases with that deluxe plan which is great!

If ordering it just gives the option for 1 month @ £3.56, 12 months @ £3.20/mo, 24months @ £2.84/mo but after trying to go through the ordering process the other day, if you pick 24 months it'll then ask would you like 36 months instead @ £2.49/mo thus an overall 30% discount!

Also you can get 10% back at Rpoints (best deal I could find) and I also found a code SB2006 (given in one of the advert/videos on the GoDaddy site) for 10% off as well. Not sure if you can use them both together, but it would be worth a try!

I too though would like to hear from anyone who has used them - No matter how cheap they are, if they are no good its not worth having!

    Cheers

I host my site on https://www.3ix.com at 59p a month. They have been fine. I bought the domain off lycos.co.uk at £1.99 yr

I host my business website on GoDaddy and recommend them to my clients regularly.

Never had any trouble whatsoever. :)

Thanks for this, the discounts sound great

Are you just quoting in £ (as the website seems to be in $) or can you sign up and pay in £?

On the main GoDaddy page, on the right there is a box to choose the currency, as either USD $, GBP £ or EUR €.

The money is taken though in USD apparantly from your card though, and the £ prices are based on the present exchange rate.

Godaddy are good for domain names avoid them for hosting. https://www.3ix.com are like most other cheap hosts - dreadful, avoid at all costs.

After searching a year ago for many day I found only a handful of great companies that provide reasonable costs while giving excellent service.

Two that you may like to consider are:

[QUOTE=https://www.3ix.com are like most other cheap hosts - dreadful, avoid at all costs.

I have sites hosted at 3ix.com and they have been fine. the sites are small but the e-mail is ok, I havn't been bombarded with spam as yet. I do it online so havn't got in touch with them except once when the log on was down & they replied within 4 hrs saying the problem had been sorted. My sites have always been up when I've checked. I have found they do have a reputation for being bad but I haven't had any problems.
If you want the customer service you have to pay, as for which is best ? Quite often it is person at the end of the phone that makes it good or bad, not the company

Why you would be bombarded with spam with a bad host, spam is nothing to do with the hosting company. As for paying for customer service, plenty of hosts do it very well for very low costs.

This is one site with a reviews of 3ix (other review sites will show the same)

These are reviews of hostpc (from the same site)

    Why avoid Godaddy?

Also, the orange one is considerably more than Godaddy?
