    Hi
You will get a lump sum for the arrears of DLA due (from date of claim to present) and then you will get regular future payments (weekly or 4 weekly).

For tax credits the disabled child and severely disabled child elements will be payable and backdating will depend on when you notified them of the DLA claim/award. These link to the care component rather than mobility component of DLA.
  • hiya i notified them (tax creds) this evening of the dla award

Took about 2 weeks with tax credits, from you telling them untill the money appears. They will also backdate to the date DLA was awarded. Have ou looked into carers allowance? If you earn less than 100 pw, you may be entitled to £58 squids xx
The feeling i got when i confirmed my place studying criminology at Exeter Uni was brilliant!!!!!

The pride my children told me they had in me was even better!!!!! # setting positive example to children is OUTSTANDING!!!! !:grouphug::grouphug::smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea

    From HMRC website:
"It’s important to tell them no later than one month after you find out that child is entitled to the allowance. Otherwise they may only be able to backdate your extra tax credits for up to one month."
