daughters dla has been confirmed today but how long.......

hiya my daughters dla has been confirmed at higher rate dla for 12 months back dated to 17th july. does anyone know how long i will wait for payment (they r sendinga giro for first one) and how many weeks i should get paid in the first place?

I have also informed Tax Creds today and they have sent a referral off.............does anyone know how long it takes to get the payments and do they back pay or do they just dish out the extra in the furture payments?

In my case it was around a month before the tribunal verdict resulted in payments of DLA.
Cases may of course vary.

For dla you get a back payment and a letter explaining usual payments (four weekly), for CTC it can take up to a month, again it's backdated (to 3 months I believe), but I've always had any changes by the second week after a call.

You may also be eligible fro carers allowance if you care for your daughter for 35 hours per week and earn less than £100 per week.
