To be honest I don't know! We adopted him when he was aged between 14-16 years.
You never know, the vets may have aged him wrong as he was in a bit of a state when he came in.
He was on kidney medication from the moment his bloods came back at the vets when they first took him in.

I think I posted a link on here to a website about CRF? It's a lot of reading but that is where I have gotten a lot of my information from. It's fantastic.
Percy has daily medication of Fortekor, he's not on a special diet because he hated it, he'd rather starve than eat it.
He gets whatever he likes, one day he might fancy something the next day he won't touch it, but really for a CRF cat it's more important that they eat.

We have some slippery elm bark to give him to help with stomach acids as he was often sick and we thought this was due to excess stomach acids - this can be common in CRF cats.
Also, we have his food and water bowls raised so they are higher than the level of his stomach - this cuts down on acid, and people have said with cats that don't even have a problem they've found this makes them eat and drink more.

I hope Skinny cat starts to improve and gain some weight rather than losing it. Does she get on with the prescription diet ok then?

I think you did post about CRF I was in too much shock to take it in at the time, the vets gave us the Hills prescription sachets but she doesnt like chunks & licks the gravy or jelly off, I found cans of it on the net which is more like supermeat & she'll eat that & she will eat the biscuit version but they are very small the receptionist told me yesterday that Royal Canin do one as well so going to think about getting that for variety.

She is taking Fortekor, so much for being palatable have to crush it into her food

Do you have a smartphone lala?
If so viber or whatsapp are apps you can download and as long as the other person downloads the app as well , you can then send each other messages and call each other for free.

I use it to call and text my brother in mumbai, it's fantastic and saves me a fortune. You just need to make sure you have a wifi connection, though I do use my 3g connection as I have unlimited internet on my phone.

Well if you'd like the link let me know and I'll pm you or post on here. It's very good as it tells you things to look out for and be aware of.

That's the one thing Percy isn't fussy with.... his Fortekor, he takes the tablet straight from my hand! :D

    I give up!
My mum is looking for a new job, I've been helping her by writing a CV for her using one of the CV builder things. It's saved on her pc desktop, huge title and everything so she can't miss it. I have, when at her house, emailed them to various jobs she's applied for and shown her everytime how I'm doing this. I've got her to do it for herself too but she's just off the phone after going to the job centre and getting more emails and wants me to drop everything to go to hers to email the CVs. She won't do it her self, I've offered to go through it for her over the phone but she's just ended up crying as she thinks it'll get me to go to her and do it for her  she hung up when she realised she wasn't getting her way.
Why can't she just do it over the phone?
Even if she sent the first one to me so I can tell her it was done right but that's too hard for her when she thinks someone else will do it for her.
I suppose there's no helping some people, I tell her about every glitch, special offer and MOCs but she just says it's easier if I get her them  I used to do this when she was working because I knew she wouldn't get time to get them herself but now she's off work I think that she could at least come with me but the response is always the same 'I've too much to do you go get it and I'll give you the money'. I've just had enough

She has to do it herself tell her when she gets a new job you cant go to work with her to help. Brutal I know but true
