Cycle Accident Claim

Hello. A friend of mine was very recently involved in a cycle accident where a car turned left into a bus lane without looking and my friend hit the car, fell off and now has a dislocated shoulder. My friend was wearing a cycle helmet, reflective clothing etc. And after the accident, the police, ambulance were called etc. Although my friend is not insured himself, can he make a claim from the car driver's insurance and if so what is the procedure? Many thanks in advance?

He certainly can. Does he have the insurnace details. Maybe he will need a report or something for them from the police.

Contact the insurance company by letter (keep a copy and send recorded delivery) hopefully the car driver will have reported it to his insurance company, if not, he;ll get his legs slapped.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

As above, your friend can make a direct claim from the driver's insurance company.

Alternatively, if they need some help it could be worth joining ctc.org.uk who offer support to cyclists and have a legal team to help with these issues. I believe they are still happy to help even when people join after accidents.

If your friend was injured then he can use a no win no fee injury solicitor to deal with everything for him.

Google cashback injury solicitor to find firms who will pay a commission (£100s) just for giving them the instructions to act for you - this is on top of any compensation they get.

Although nwnf solicitors will tell you it wont cost you anything, you might be asked to go to see a consultant in Harley Street London at your cost, also you will most likely have to sign a consent form giving the defendant access to your entire medical history as happened to me, i told them where to go and now face being sued by the solicitors. The company that I dealt with was endorsed by Esther Ranzen.
A friend of mine had a cycling accident, took the driver to court and won partly because he had a witness.
