Why dont "Sendit.com" just send it ?

I ordered a cd a week ago in time for a birthday gift. I paid via Paypal as they stated "usually despatched in 24 hrs" I have had the amount taken from my account but no email confirming despatch. They also state that they don't take payment until the item has been sent.

I now don't know what to do as it is looking unlikely for my gift to arrive before Sunday.:(

i am waiting on a refund for a non arrived item from them.. their customer service is rather lacking!

i must say that their prices seem cheaper than most, until you add the £2 PER ITEM postage on..

Also if send first class then as normal 10 working days is standard maximum period. If this expires then complain but as royal mails fault the. Ain compmaony at them.

If they have a credit card attached to paypal, then the transfer will be instant- either from the card, or from the bank account but guaranteed by the credit card.

If there's no card on the account it will take several days for the payment to clear, which would mean sendit were being reasonable in holding off posting.

What sort of paypal payment did you use OP?

Amazon ordered the morning of 29th August. Arrives the next day. Why can't sendit do that ? Why do they say dispatched in 24 hrs when they blatantly don't ?

Becuase they are Amazon, have huge distribution processes, deal in millions of parcels daily and, therefore, are seen as royalty by the post office. They will have agreements with all delivery companies they use and they will always be treated as priority. Sendit, like many other companies, cant compete with that.

Dispatched in 24 hours simply means 'sent within 24 hours'. Delivery is irrelevant to this statement. Once an item leaves sendit, it is clearly down to whoever is delivering the parcel to deliver it. This kind of comment comes up time and time again and I always advise to take it out on the company delivering the item, not the company you bought it from as they will have as much control over it as you do.
