civil enforcement parking notice

Hi all. I've been reading everyone's advice about private parking tickets and when I received one I followed the advice and ignored it. Now I've received the 2nd notice which is titled 'final notice before legal action'. The rest of the notice says 'failure to pay full amount within 7 days of this notice may result in an immediate county court summons against you. A warrant may then be issued to bailiffs to recover the amounts due, plus court fees, bailiff costs and interest'.
I'm sure it's just to scare me into paying but could do with a little reassurance as I'm starting to get worried.

If they were really going to do it the "may"s would be "will"s.

    Feel reassured.

    Cheers

Had similar threat letters when i was off work sick, And stopped paying the credit card bills. Its all fake they have no intention of taking you to court.

They just want to scare you. Keep the letters though.

Just above the " new thread " box you clicked to start this thread is Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking. If you are at all worried click on that and look at all the information there.

CCJ - No they can't give you one only the courts can do that.
Bailiff - No only the court can send in a bailiff
Chance of them taking you to court, About the same as you winning the Euro lottery jackpot two weeks running.

Civil Enforcement. A candidate for the least appropriately named private ticketing company. They're not civil and they can't enforce anything.

The final but more unpleasant threats usually include mentioning that, if the case goes to court, a county court judgement (CCJ) may be issued, that bailiffs may be appointed and that your credit rating may be ruined.

For things to actually get to this stage, the car park owner would have to take you to court and win the case. Then, you would have to refuse to pay, to get a CCJ issued after 28 days. Then, you would have to still refuse to pay, to get bailiffs appointed.

Continue to ignore everything you get from them. Soon, they’ll run out of empty threats and stop throwing good money after bad.
