Got a 5 yr old boiler and recently had to get a plate heat exchanger replaced but it cost me for the part as "they claim the fault was due to blockage" black paricles. I was shocked as I thought I would be covered sothat was £240 I had to pay. Can anyone advise is this a common exclusion on these type of policies. I have since been told by NatWest that during a Insurance renewal quote, I would have been covered up to £500 parts and labour for this but reading the small print they use a term "beyond economical repair" so I am not convinced. What are peoples opinion as I am moving to a property that had a new central heating system & boiler installed in 2009 and not sure about what sort of policy I need to take out and which one. I am blinded by all the small print and do not understand it that well. Thank you for any guidence you can offer

if you have been advised before by the engineer that you have sludge, then no you wouldnt be covered. you should always get the first fix on this scenario.
As far as Natwest.... probably not.
firstly they will only come out if its an emergency. 2 they guarantee a temporary repair, might do a permanent, but only if at similar cost.Promo codes are never always cheaper..... isnt that right EuropCar?0
