Can I open a Barclays Current Account with a default ?

I have a default on my Credit report, can I open a normal barlcays current account with it on there, or will it only be a basic account I can apply for ?.

The default drops off in just under two months as it was October 2006 it was put on.

Some banks will give out current accounts to people with defaults but it's basically a glorified basic account as they won't give you an overdraft or cheque book no offers for loans or credit cards etc.
