Be patient. You can't expect that all the people who know the answer are hanging around at 6.30in the morning waiting for you to post your question.

Yes, the DWP should write to you with any sanction.

Have you missed a WFI or will you be unable to attend one?

If the latter then contact your personal advisor and tell them you can't make it and why, they may be able to hold the appointment over the phone.

If you have missed one, then they should ask you for Good Cause as to why you were unable to attend, but if you are sanctioned then it will only be removed once you attend a WFI.

If Jobcentre decide you failed to attend your WFI without good cause they can sanction you by reducing your work-related activity component (WRAC) by 50% for four weeks and by 100% for continued failures thereafter.

Jobcentre must notify you in writing of their decision that you failed to attend, and you have the right to appeal this decision showing good cause. You can show good cause in a number of ways e.g. describe the anxiety attending WFIs causes or provide GP or CPN etc evidence, or a statement from someone who knows you well and/or who usually supports you to attend.

Also bear in mind that your disability adviser has discretion to complete WFIs over the phone so if you struggle to attend, tell them.
