Firstly, why do you need a full system?
Back box can be replaced by jacking the back end up a few inches.
Centre section you need a bit more space..0 -
I was driving today and heard a crack, stopped to find the back box had partly snapped off and the RAC guy had to snap it off completely in order for me to drive it to the garage...he said it could probably be temporarily welded back on...but it would most probably need a complete exhaust....unless I heard that last bit wrong...soon find out tomorrow anyway0

I think I paid about £60 for the rear section of my MK3 a year or so ago.0

Take it to a trusty garage - not KwikKrap as they will sell you a complete system. and tyres. And brakes. And shockers.
Phone places like Andrew Page for a price on a backbox.
All you'll need is:
A jack or high kerb.
A spanner and a socket.
WD40
Small bit of exhaust paste
Spare 30 minutes.0 -
If the exhaust has been on since new, it'll take a lot more than 30 minutes and a spanner to remove.0

Too right. Theres a reason exhaust places have gas welding gear, and it isnt to do bodywork with.**** I hereby relieve MSE of all legal responsibility for my post and assume personal responsible for all posts. I paid about £170 for a complete exhaust (excluding Cat) for my Mk3 Mondeo estate last year from a local tyre and exhaust company in Kidderminster."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0

I was quoted just under £300 for a full cat back stainless system, With a choice of how it sounds and tailpipes etc.
If your going to keep the car.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
dont know about about fords but some manufacturers have complete systems from new (no joints so no clamps or sections that can be removed) and if you still have the manufactueres system in place, then adding a Back Box will require a center section to bolt onto.
if not lie above just buy a new back box, but the condition of the rest of system should be considdered aswell.
if keeping the car for a good few years, then go stainless.0
