  • I collect mine in advance, if it gets to arrears a debt collection agency will be dealing with it ;)

I collect in advance from my tenant (monthly)

When i worked for a letting agents we always collected in advance.

Not heard of weekly rent although it may be priced weekly in a letting agents - it is due on a monthly basis (unless that's an arangement you have come to)
    !
  • In a council or housing association house your rent is due on a Monday for the week ahead, so I guess thats in advance.

Thank you for all the replies.
I let a house and collect rent weekly with a rent book, rent collected on a Monday and I could not remember if it was in advance or arrears. The reason I was asking is, the tennants are leaving mid week and I am letting them off with that weeks rent as it would only be half a week anyway and they are related to me. If it is in advance that is fine, if it was paid in arrears I would be losing TOO much. UPDATE: Just checked my details of the contract and it is paid in advance.:o

    Thanks all.
