If i applied for a bank account 5 years ago, with the name say
Joe Smith
and now I apply for a secondary one, online (with the same bank) with my middlename also included too:
Joe Warren Smith
then
Account 1 = Joe Smith
account 2 = Joe Warren Smith
then could this cause issues? (in matching the 2 accounts)
- as in, could the bank think they are 2 diff people?
can i change one of them, so they Both are the same name, in the branch?
or will the banks recognise them as 1 person? as they are both me?
(Both addresses on both are the same)

Nope.
Some of my accounts have my middle name others don't.
Never caused me any problems what so ever.I'm not cynical I'm realistic
(If a link I give opens pop ups I won't know I don't use windows)0 -
I had issues when applying for a mortgage,
somehow along the way, different documentation between passport/driving license and bank accounts had different details. Some with middle name and some without.
And the mortgage advisor at lloyds (who we were applying with) said it was a problem.
Basically set the whole process back about 8days while i got them all fixed. So now I would just fix them as they come up so they are always the same0 -
The only problem i ever had with my middle name was when i opened a Natwest account last year. I put my middle name on the application form but didn't have it on any of my ID. They told me they couldnt continue and i had to wait till the application expired and complete it again with the middle name missing.
So, i filled it in again with the midlle name missing and it went through fine and i had the account.........which has my middle name on it:rotfl:.0
