I always find Rothwell to be quite pleasant although the town shopping area has all but died now. The middle area (Manor Road) is still a lot of council but ok nonetheless as it seems to be full of working people and Lofthouse is also nice. Lots of greenery about so it looks pretty :-)

Good links once again to Leeds centre without being part of it.

I lived in Stanley which is a nice part. I am surprised how cheap housing is there as you are under 2 miles (1.75 miles from my old place) to the M62 and 2.5 miles to the M1.

Can I jump in and ask about some of these places too.

I am moving to Leeds, working near Heckmondwike.

We want easy access to Leeds, so not too far away, but want a nice place too. Ideally on a good bus/train route to Leeds.

Places we have been told to consider are...

    Drighlington, Gomersal, Ossett, Cleckheaton.

Houses we like so far are in Tingley and Morley

Can anyone give the pro/con of each area (Not too fussed with Cleck, bit too far from Leeds). Or if anyone has any wildcards such as I just read about (Birkenshaw) then fire away.

    Thanks
