Advice please, threatening landlord.

If it came to the bit and hopefully will not and the landlord or anyone else came to the house to tell them to get out then they should call the police. The police often don't know the law around this - they should quote to the police RENT198400220100. This is the crime code on the police's SRA2 crime recording system for the offence of unlawful eviction under the Rent (Scotland) Act 1984.

I spoke to my sister earlier and she told me that in all the time she's lived in her house she's never been given a gas check certificate or any kind of paperwork regarding the gas checks though he did do a check about every 12 months. Because her landlord was doing the checks himself she just assumed thats why he didn't give her anything. His house so he kept all the paperwork.
She's going to check the gas safe website as soon as she hunts out the last address she has for him. I did a search for him by name and area but couldn't find anything, he might be registered under a business name though so it's not certain he's not registered.0 -
