Sorry me again asking stupid questions....:undecided
When all of you compers out there fill in a form do you put your real date of birth or stick to another.
I use my wifes date of birth as it's reasonably easy to remember and then my digital data is safe..... it wouldn't take much to hack you as they got your name address email dob and phone number...
Answers on a [STRIKE]postcard[/STRIKE] below please.
Thankyou.:D

I've made up another which I always use for competitions and surveys- I'm now a year younger
, different date and month as well, but as I always use the same one it's gone on autopilot. I now struggle to remember my real dob when I actually need it.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

That is what I do - however one day I won a competition for a sum of money to be paid into my Paypal account.
They contacted me by phone to say they had checked out my details and couldn't pay the money because they could not trace me, using the date of birth I had given :rotfl:
I explained to them that I never used the correct date for comping because I am paranoid about identity theft at which point the gent on the phone had a good laugh. After I gave them the correct details they paid the money no problem.
GL everyone :AThanks to all OP's your efforts are much appreciated :A0 -
Ive never thought about giving a false age or DOB. Isnt that giving false information which could disqualify you? Not that anybody has asked me to prove it, but I have seen some posts where proof has been required to accept a win (esp alcohol)Current Aims: Laptop/PC, decent money, holiday
Best Wins: Ipad, Nintendo 3DS, £400 Shopping Spree at LK Bennett, £100 Boots vouchers
Total Wins (Since April 2012) £3442.56
Big thanks to all who post comps :T:beer:0 -

I'm the same as you.:o
I've never really given it much thought and as you say, some comps require ID to accept the prize.2019 Wins

Never been asked, but then again they only have to look at me to see I'm well over 18.:rotfl:All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

ive always given my true details when entering comps, i can understand why some people see it as being risky but ive trusted the comps to be legitimate enough to enter on here so have thought it was worth the risk! i was initially always wary about entering my phone number too thinking i`d be bombarded with crap calls but in 2 years entering comps ive never had a wtc or much in the way of marketing calls etc.Comping Life- wake up in morning, get excited about postie comin, bit more excited as u check emails 1st time, get deflated NO wems!,get more deflated as postie brings junk, enter comps,go to work, wonder if delivery vans brought a surprise!,come home nope no surprises!,check again for wems nope still disappointed!,enter more comps, time for bed,REPEAT!0

in all the years i've been comping (since the early 70's)
i've always given my correct name/d.o.b./tele:no/ etc
& majority of comp sites nowdays can check up on your details,
to me there's no sense in using false details, what if you win a large amount of money ? it would be in your name but they could refuse to pay you as your details weren't corrector you gave
the wrong information asked in the t&c's when you enteredplease be a responsible pet owner & spay/neuter your pets, too many strays & not enough homes for them sadly.0 -
same as firefly
i dont want to chance not being able to get the prize should i win0 -
It's never entered my head to use anything other than my correct date of birth - perhaps that makes me ridiculously naive??
