Car Insurance - Increase In Policy

Hi All,

I have today received a letter from Admiral saying that they are increasing my car insurance costs due to an incorrect declaration on mu policy.

So here goes the history:

My wife and I set up a multicar policy in May 2011, however due to our renewal dates we were informed that we have to set up a single car policy and transfer the second car over on expiration of the old policy.

So the first policy is in place and paid for, and then I have two no fault accidents (rear enders) between the date of the policy and the transfer to the multicar policy. So I (naively?) made the appropriate claims through Admiral and subsequently both claims have been settled.

In July of this year the multicar renewal notice came through and admittedly I failed to spot that the two claims had not been included on the schedule. As both claims had been dealt with by Admiral I didn't think that they would have missed them unknowingly.

So from a renewal quote of £672.63 which has been paid I now get a further demand for £287.94!!

Now I appreciate that I failed to spot that the claims had not been included on the renewal schedule but do I have any come back on this at all?

I have spoken to "Customer Services" who basically said that as I didn't inform them when the policy was created (prior to the accidents?) it is my fault and then decided that they couldn't help me any more and decided to transfer me to the claims department!

Fortunately Paul has been helpful so far and I am awaiting a call back (crosses fingers)

Any suggestions comments greatly appreciated.

Pay up or take your business elsewhere?

But there will be admin fees etc to pay. Do a dummy quote and see if the premium compares to what they are charging you.

With 2 accidents it doesnt seem outrageous.
