Should I bide my time before fixing (Npower Customer)

Hello,
My current deal with NPower has just expired.
Having searched around for another deal, there doesn't seem to be anything much cheaper than the Go Save tariff they have now moved me on to.
I am due to receive a £100 loyalty bonus from NPower in October. If I leave before that, they obviously won't pay out.
Anyone in a similar position. I'm thinking about waiting for the bonus and then shopping around for a deal.
Any thought most welcome. I'm a single person and not a high energy user.
Kind regards,
Stephen

Are you sure about that? The Go Save tariff is a disguised name for their standard tariff.0

Hi.
Thanks for the reply. No, not really.
I ran my annual usage figures through the various comparison sites, but the savings seemed to be minimal (maybe £20 or so per annum). Some fixed deals were actually more expensive.
The problem I have that (say) switching to EDF now will cost me £100 and the savings don't seem to stack up.0 -
Hi studio_two,
You're quite right - if you leave npower before the 12 months is up, you will forfeit the £100 discount.
We have some great tariffs available and our Sales team will be more than happy to find the best deal for you. Pop them a call on 0808 156 0056.
Many thanks,

I went onto the standard tariff until the £100 was due to be paid, with the intention of switching soon afterwards. In fact, it's taken a while after then to get my backside into gear but as it's been summer I haven't used that much fuel anyway.
Have just applied to switch to a fix so that will all go well, hopefully.0 -
Well, it didn't work out for me this time.
My £100 bonus is due later this month, but practically all of the fixed deals are gone. My annual bill will be around £600 factoring in the increases. I had my home insulated too, so hopefully it's not too much of a disaster.
There are some "tracker" deals available, but not sure about those. Anyone have any thoughts on these?0 -
The extra you will pay on Standard will be more than compensated by the £100 bonus, so wait to collect that.
There will be no more cheap* fixes now before the Spring.
