New Kobo - HELP!

Hope someone out there can help. I bought my husband a Kobo touch e reader for his birthday and neither of us are very computer literate and are therefore having trouble downloading books. I tried a free one and couldnt do it so purchased one and am still stuck. Any ideas where I am going wrong?

If you Google new Kobo help then you will come across this Kobo help page which gives a link to Watch our video tutorials remember to click on Kobo Touch, not Kobo vox.

Follow the getting started stuff. I cannot give direct links as the Kobo website uses frames

Which site are you using? Are you downloading to your pc?

I've recently got a Kobo so have recent success as a beginner downloading a 'shop' book - and also a couple of library books too.

If you're buying books in the Kobo shop they should download to the Touch as soon as you connect to your computer with the Kobo desktop application. Epub books acquired elsewhere can also be 'sideloaded' by simply dragging and dropping with Windows Explorer either to the Kobo root directory (don't try to set up sub-directories) or to a micro-SD card for use in the Touch. Personally I keep Kobo purchases in the main memory of the device and sideloads on the memory card. A program called 'Calibre' (free - just Google for it) is excellent for maintaining an eBook library and works well with the Kobo.
