Spot on and exactly what I feel.

Like you (may have) I have gone from being fairly able (two years ago) to needing a wheelchair, walking stick (for the few yards to the car), claiming DLA (HRM & MRC).

Two years ago I never thought about Blue Badges or Motobility cars but now I do and find myself getting so angry with the widespread and so obvious abuse that could see genuine folks, in real need, losing one or both. Even the genuine ones who will not lose are still going through horrendous stress in case they may lose.

Mini rant over - until the next one :)
Totally with you there mate, I only went to Cyprus on holiday for a fortnight at the very end of September last year for a fortnight, I finally returned home just before Xmas 2011 minus my entire right leg and much of my hip. Cost me an arm and a leg that holiday did. Well ok, it cost me the leg! :) A hemi-pelvectomy was not something I knew of or planned at the time. :(

Nevertheless, it has really opened my eyes into the world of disabilities and I only have to sit in the supermarket car park to appreciate the struggle that is daily life that many continue to get on with and the sheer arrogance and selfishness that others also display both towards the genuinely disabled and quite often those that are obviously abusing the system. And yes I know I know, you can't always see genuine disabilities and I'm not pointing the finger at those but you can spot those idiots parking their BMW X5 in the disabled spot with no badge whatsoever (nor need for one) without the slightest hint of guilt, god forbid that they themselves never suffer a life-changing operation.

Anyway apologies, I'm going OT here so I'll shush but going back on-topic, I hope they throw the book at both him and the registered Motability owner of the car. Life is hard enough for me right now without giving any of the dire governmental choices an even bigger stick to beat us with.

I must admit I often read and enjoy reading your posts. A good mix of saying how it is, being helpful but still able to get your annoyance over but without going too far.

I never realised how many people abused the Blue Badge and Motobility system until I was a member of the disabled club although I prefer to call myself inabled. Not much difference but can't help it.
