Sorry about that, I didn't realise I couldn't post a link to a website that contains discount codes. I've posted the discount code on the correct board now.0

thankyou, squidzin. It is safer for the MSE site to have any codes or external code links put in the one single forum so they can be checked to avoid any, possibly nasty, repercussions. You can link to your own post in the Online Discount Vouchers board within your post here though

Seems a good buy but if I were considering buying a Panasonic 28" CRT flatscreen I would scrimp together another £50 and buy this one

It gives you integrated freeview TV and a DVD player.0 -
I agree that probably is a better deal if you need a dvd player and don't have Sky or prefer freeview...
...and if you aren't from Northern Ireland which I am!0 -
Even if you didn't need a DVD player I would still go for integrated TV if you ever use Freeview (and live on the mainland!). I set a Sony Freeview TV up (from Curry's) for a friend and wished I had bought a freeview TV instead of the 'normal' TV + set top box I have after having used his..... soooo much easier to use and one less remote control. On the downside I would have watched more TV as much easier to flick through channels if nothing on mainstream TV.
Just pointing it out...the choice is there.0 -
Is this TV not every bit as good as the ...
Philips 28" 28PW6518C Real Flat Widescreen TV Inc Cabinet for £259.99
...that everybody jumped so quickly to buy when posted on this board?
Only it's cheaper and in my opinion looks better??
Somebody put me in the know! Have I made a bad choice ordering this TV??0 -
Its a nice TV, but CRT screens are so 1990's
Save save save!!0 -
I remember the 90s, that was when people didn't accept a rubbish picture for the sake of a poncy thin box

I think you are forgetting here zag2me, we are only talking £250 here! I suppose you have a flat screen that cost alot more that will be outdated once HD-ready TVs become more readily available?0

I bought this exact tv from this exact place 2 weeks ago and can thouroughly recommend them even though they are only really a small concern. Their customer service was excellent and delivery was in just 3 days. Although I did have to help the delivery man bring the tv in the house but that appears to be common policy these days!.
As for the TV, the picture quality is amazing. One of the best i've seen on a CRT, its really crisp and clear and pretty much flicker free. The user menus and freeview software are easy to use and easy on the eye and it holds the freview reception well. It also has a CAM slot so you can upgrade to Top Up TV if you wish.
Its not 100Hz scan but I feel 100Hz is overated in any case, in particularly on sets under 32". After all, TV images are still only broadcast at 50Hz anyway, so there is real benefit to picture quality, all it really does is stop the flicker on white text so paying excessive amounts for 100Hz is pointless unless you use subtitles a lot!.
The sound quality isn't the best as it isn't very "bass-ey" and at times can sound a little bit tinny. Its a great looking set as well with the two contrasting silver/grey around the screen and the rest of the set.
You were also meant to get the Panasonic S27 DVD player but I got sent the uprated S47 model instead and the picture quality on that is good too.
For me it was a toss up between this one from digital direct and the 28" Samsung one from ebuyer (the pricing error one) as they were in the same price range but after the farce which ebuyer went through dealing with that mistake there is no way I will be using them for anything again.
Im happy with my choice and feel I made the right one!
