We have just come back from a couple of days in Brighton. We went to sealift centre, but even with tickets using tesco points I still thought it was expensive and we were only in there for 1.5 hours, i would not recommend.
The best thing to do in Brighton is wander around the lanes, which is not always good with kids. Hopefully the weather will be good and you can spent the day on the beach and on the pier.0 -
As previous post, a walk along the pier is cheap fun if you are not tempted by the rides but just get an icecream.
The Fishing Museum on the seafront is free (it is very small). My children loved museums but I know they don't appeal to all children.
I too like the North Laine area and the Lanes for all the quirky and interesting shops and cafes but not sure if that would appeal to your children. But look in the window of Choccywoccydoodah is free if you avoid the expensive goodies inside!0 -
Churchill Square is good for a mooch, I personally think the slices of 'pizza fresha' pizza are the best I've had outside of NYC, Boho Gelato in pool valley has some pretty far out ice cream flavours (birthday cake is my fave) - wandering along the pier and beach is fun and free - the victorian penny slot arcade is on my to-do list.
Ooh I nearly forgot.. Little Bay & Sukkathai Palace hav,e in my opinion the best value meals in town0 -
The pavillion is good for site seeing, also along the front is volks railway, brain trains oldest electric train, it runs from the pier to the marina, with a stop half way along for Peter pans playground, which has water shoots on a sunny day. The marina is full of shops and restaurants. There is also a volly ball court near Peter pans and a Grady golf. The train is reasonable and Peter pans and marina free to enter. Marina has a large asda if money tight, so easy to get picnic stuff.
I live in Brighton, so I I can assist further shout!

Yeah, I vouch for the Volks, we use it to drop in to town on weekends, it is a neat way of travelling. The marina has Coast to Coast, Prezzo, Pizza Express, Frankie and Bennies, and a pretty good (if large and a bit empty) Indian.0
