EDF - I don't understand what tariff I'm on!

Hi all,

I recently moved into a new flat, called up edf who were the current providers and they said lots of stuff which I didn't understand, with the result being me being put on a standard variable contract.

I live in a flat which is electric only, i.e. no gas, so I have storage heaters and an electric water heating tank. My meter is a 'rare' economy 9 one, so 9 hours of off peak.

My questions are:
  • is the standard variable the best tariff?
  • if I move to blue price fix, will my 9 hours off-peak change to something else?
  • can I move to blue price fix with a 2-rate meter?
  • what do I do???
Thanks for your advice - for reference, I've been here for a few months, and average monthly bill is about £60

I have economy 7 on blue price promise but have to be honest, I've never heard of economy 9. I'm sure edf can tell you which tariffs your meter is compatible with.
