Hi all, Since we have lived in our house (5 years) we have always had NTL for the phone, there is a BT line going to the house, but the cable is just lying in the gutter of our bungalow. Now if i switched back to BT will they charge me for an installation? I could route the cable through the attic and down into one of the rooms and connect it up to a box, but it will not be the original install from BT, will this matter?
Cheers

If you have the box inside the house for the cable to go into then there is no charge.
Last year when BT replaced the telephone poles they didnt connect us to it seeing as our BT line was no longer used and when I rang to enquire if Id be charged reconnection they said no as I had the box inside the house still0 -
Cheers, is that the original BT Box? I hope i kept it, expensive box otherwise0

Not the box your phone plugs into, just the little box the line connects to. Mine is in the hall above the door0
