Accidentally uninsured

Ok. So I sit tight and wait to see what the insurers say and then pay out of my own pocket if they say it's joint liability.
I have done a quick repair on my own car. Will I get anything back as I had a repair quote done first (ie should I pursue getting a perfect repair if I'm going to have to pay anyway)?
Thanks for responding everyone!0 -
If it ends up a 50/50 split liability, then the other side will pay half of all your costs, but you would need to pursue a claim with them to get this.0

But how will this go seeing as the OP was not insured?
If it were me i would be claiming all out that the OP was 100% responsible as they would have to pay costs to persue this.
And report them for being uninsured.
Oh i feel a twinge in my neck coming on also.
Curious how the insurers would look at this. Uninsured and doubt over liability?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Does being uninsured matter in a car park?0

Yes, the RTA requires you to have insurance if you "use" a vehicle on a road or public place. Places like supermarket carparks are considered a public place0

How can you be "Accidentally" uninsured?0

Was insured for the car I had been driving, had bought a new car and got a quote from existing insurer to transfer insurance to the new one. But it seemed that this was never followed up by my agreeing to the quote. I am getting to the age where I need to write everything down on a bit of paper, it seems.

It was all done over the phone so I have to accept what the insurance co. says, that I didn't give them the go ahead.0 -
unfortnatly you had no insurance so the fault will lie with you0

If you don't agree, then dispute it.
Just because they say you never gave them instructions doesn't necessarily mean they are correct.
If you aren't convinced ask them for a transcript and take it from there.0
