Car hire Eastern Europe

Options
Hi people,
I am looking at hiring a car in Prague and driving thorugh Austria and Slovakia, and then flying back to the UK from Bratislava (in July this year). I had a quote from Auto Europe and it came to about 700US for a week. They were the only ones I could find to do the one way thing.

Is there a cheaper way I could do this. I like the freedom of a car, but aint happy about the cost for a week in what are supposed to be "cheaper" countries.

All advice much appreciated,
Juan

I have had the same issue too with Canada/US. Car rental companies don't really like doing 1 way rentals, especially when you have to drop the car off in another country. If thats the only quote you have got, you may have to bite the bullet and go for it. I woudl look at the bigger companies too as they are usually based in all countries so they are more likely to allow the 1 way hires ... try Avis, Budget, National, ALamo etc.
