    Meh....

Another one that wouldn't have happened if people would just learn to reverse park.

crazy in a supermarket! I spend lots of time in supermarket car parks and have seen more "accidents" with trolleys being pushed between cars than i see reversing accidents.

I see accidents in car parks on an almost daily basis of all sorts though

    whats does Meh mean

The parking bays in supermarkets should be angled; the yanks seem to have twigged this idea, but UK parking companies don't seem quite with it.

I think vans and 4x4's should have their own parking spaces in carparks as they can be tricky when you're trying to reverse out from the side of.

Manufacturer parking sensors in my experience are pretty good. Non factory fitted ones are very variable. Have checked out that car on autotrader and hard to tell if they were standard as not all have them.

Would also point out parking sensors are an aid and not infallible and a woman with 2 kids in a supermarket car park is a distracted woman who is having 2 conversations and trying to remember if she bought yogurt or not. hence beep beep beep BANG.

Saab sensors only work when in reverse and will beep as soon as anything is within range BUT if she had the radio on and kids talking or making any noise it is easy to miss them peeping because they are not very loud and the volume is not adjustable ( a complaint from most Saab 93 SS owners me included ).
  • Hi All

Just a wee update to say that the case went to court yesterday (what a long day!!). And the good news is that I won! The sheriff did not apply any contributory negligence to me either (ie she considered the other woman to be 100% at fault) - which I am delighted about.

The woman who reversed into me had two witnesses (I had none); and my lawyer (a stand-in for my actual lawyer, who was on holiday!) said to me straight off the bat, something along the lines of "You've got a really shaky case here. It's going to be extremely difficult to obtain a positive outcome". Erm, thanks for the pep-talk buddy! LOL!

Anyway, it's all over now, so hopefully I can just put it behind me and move on.

Thank you again to everyone who offered advice, etc.
