Probably not. Your insurance covers you for death, you mayhave had critical illness cover, or other covers.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0

mortgage protection is a term that covers different types of policies that are applicable to mortgages. This can include MPPI but also life assurance, critical illness cover and income protection (PHI).
What type of mortgage protection do you have?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. You also knew that you had this financial back up so why did you sign it. You said youself that you were advised, You didnt have to take it.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

i have decreasing life cover to pay the mortgage off if one of us dies, and theother insurance i think i was missold is for accident, sickness and redundandcy0

That is appropriate. Your death in service benefit would only have been paid at the discretion of the scheme trustees. If I remember correctly, it would also have been related to your salary at the time and your length of service.i have decreasing life cover to pay the mortgage off if one of us dies
Most such policies paid out for accident and sickness anyway and pay out for redundancy provided you had no reason to expect it at the time you took it out. This would be unaffected by a redundancy payment (although time off in lieu of notice would not be covered).theother insurance i think i was missold is for accident, sickness and redundandcy
So you have said nothing that indicates a missale.0 -
I don't understand why you think that Abbey would have knowledge of the Civil Service sickness and redundancy policy? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

That wont be the reason it was upheld. The FOS have been rejecting complaints on civil servants and other public sector workers with the same sickness benefits. So, it is likely to be another reason.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
