What you were actually told, (if you bother to read the reply correctly) is that you would probably get a better response if you report the anti-social behaviour rather than b*tch about how many bedrooms they have. One of these issues you can do something about, one of them you probably can't.
But if you'd rather throw your toys out of the pram because people don't instantly see things the same way as you then go ahead, but it won't get you far.0 -
Well gossip which has filtered through half a housing estate has never been a particularly good way of getting reliable information.
Quite surprising though (to me at least), is the way dishonest folk tend to brag about their exploits. We have relations who "share" driving offences, defrauded credit card companies, got banned from Ebay, were let off assault charges, stole from supermarkets, TWOC'ing, and yet none of them have been to jail.
I just think that the authorities are bone idle and pick on the easiest "small fry".0 -
Removed. Funny, if someone posts about wanting a bigger council house, etc you lot go off on one about how they only need one or two rooms, etc. Yet when this monster of a man plays the system to get a three bed, I am told not to interfere in their housing choices?
I do understand where you are coming from, I actually wanted to stay out of this as I don't think I can add anything constructive. Just didn't want you to run away think what a terrible lot we are here.0 -

I agree with you there. This is why we're fined for parking in the wrong place, etc, but burgling and shoplifting pay off handsomely.
In the same vein, the "tame sheep" who have their houses burgled are massively threatened by the law if the burglars are hurt in any way, but the burglars get off scot free to continue a whole lifetime of burgling.
The key seems to be an aggressor.0 -

Do we? Have you been lurking for months or do you happen to be yet another reincarnation of the PPR'd/ trolling?Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
This nasty man is not "playing the system to get a three bedroomed home", he already has one.
If he's on a final warning with the HA then your parents should press on with raising a valid complaint against him directly with the anti-social behaviour unit at the HA. Obssessing about who precisely lives in the property with however many children in it will get no-one anywhere.
I'm sorry if some of the responses were not what you were hoping for. It must be truly miserable to find such people as neighbours but if your parents want to grass them up, they should do so but I suspect going down that route will not get them what they deserve.0 -

If he was already living in the 3-bed house he does not have to vacate it just because circumstances have now changed and the other tenant(s) have moved out.
With the housing situation the way it is in this country at the moment a person would be absolutely insane to give up their social housing property. They are like gold dust!
I do sympathise if these people are anti-social/undesirable types, though, and this ought to be addressed.0 -
Just to clarify, my concerns are not that he is getting a three bedroom house - it is that he is coming back.
The fact he is getting a three bedroom house is just showing how easy it is to play the benefits system. He left for a year and stopped paying towards the rent so she claimed full housing benefit. I would have thought that if he was still on the tenancy and was working, he should have been paying towards the rent.
Also, to the person who said I was "!!!!!ing" and that I should follow their advice and report them - like I stated before, it has been done many times. They keep getting warnings, letters, visits, etc but nothing comes of it. I think they now know nothing will be done so they do exactly what they like when they like.0 -

But you said he's on his last warning with the HA?
Just keep a diary of anti social behaviour and keep reporting him to the HA and police if required, eventually he will be evicted. Get your parents to write to their MP too, my parents and other neighbours were fobbed off until they wrote to our local MP, hopefully you have a proactive one too.....

My grandparents are unfortunately going through a similar situation although the nightmare neighbour has bought her council house rather than renting it.
Agree with Sassyblue, write to your MP or local councillor, that is what my grandparents are now doing as nothing has been done despite having copious amounts of evidence of ASB.0
