Nationwide PPI

Just to ask for advice. We took out a PPI with a Nationwide mortgage back in 1995 as I felt at that time that I should cover myself in case I lost my job. We ceased having PPI when we remortgaged 4/5 years later. A friend has advised me to try and claim it back as she says she has come across a case where someone took action a few years ago against Nationwide having discovered that his PPI would not have paid out until he had been unemployed for 5 months. I have looked through all our old paperwork and looked through the schedules and letters, but I can find no exclusion clauses. I remember asking our financial advisor at the time if I should take out this cover and he suggested it was "good advice" to, but I quite honestly do not recall him pushing us to take it. Does anyone know about Nationwide PPIs in the mid-1990S, what the exclusions were and if we would have a realistic chance of reclaiming? Thanks

If there is no documentary evidence of an exclusion then you cannot prove there was one.

If there was not then you do not have a valid complaint.

This other person who found out he couldnt claim for 5 months, presumably it would have been in the terms and conditions wich he would have signed for but didnt read. She didnt actually say whether he won his case though.
