No Windows Updates for 2 weeks?

Computer operating fine but Windows Update is conspicuous by its absence!

No automatic notifications since it was updated on 15th August (now two weeks) and only one optional update shown.when checking manually.

As someone who is used to having to walk away from the computer on an almost daily basis whilst Update slows everything down it struck me as very odd.

I'm on Windows Vista Home Basic (version 6.06.6002).

Is there a general problem or has Microsoft simply closed down for their summer holidays?

Thanks

Microsoft release their security patches on the second Tuesday of every month, so you're install on the 15th was the latest lot.

If you are using Microsoft Security Essentials or Windows Defender then they also get updates through Windows Update which you should see roughly every day.

    Many thanks -

From your information have tracked back and found Windows security features had been disabled by a major Norton update (so have security - and can stay that way as I shan't miss the near-daily drain on my patience!)

Yeah Norton would have turned off Windows Defender, which is fine because Norton will do that protection instead.
