Small bag of ladies items is a great idea, I'd have been mortified if I'd started when I was at school and had to ask a female member of staff. Don't assume it's years away either, I was 11 and still appeared underdeveloped. :o

My daughter starts high school next week too, We were given a folder on our parents visit evenings explaining everything she will need. It's not much really, usual stationery stuff, pencils, pens, protractor/compass/set square, calculator. Uniform obviously, and stipulations about what can and can't be taken.

The poster who comments about a backpack with 2 straps has obviously never tried to convince a 12 year old girl that using a backpack is a good idea.
It's all about style, not how practical it is. Primark will be making a killing on bags in the last couple of weeks. Good thing is that they're cheap !

One stipulation my daughter wasn't happy about was the "no Lycra skirts" rule. Shame as they're only £6 each at Asda !

I've said this before but I would still pay good money to have seen the look on my DSD's teacher's face when she returned to school from Turkey with a fake Chanel handbag!
