IE9 Strange problem

Using Windows 7
The problem is difficult to describe, but when clicking within forum links, such as MSE and another forum with similar set up, the page goes to the link, but seems to jump a further couple links, going to bottom of page, and I have to backspace back to the link I actually clicked.
This strange problem started yesterday, haven't changed any settings, not sure whether it followed an update, and it's driving me crazy!
Have considered restoring back a couple of days, but as I have been sorting out the data in my Roboform data, I don't really want to restore, unless as a last resort.
Does anyone please have any ideas what is causing this weird behaviour? Never come across anything similar before.
Please don't advise changing to Firefox or other browser, I'm used to Internet Explorer (usually!) Thanks for any help.

Thanks very much bollotom.
Followed the link and pressed F7 key, unfortunately 'carat browsing' is already turned off. I think the problem must be due to an update or something, but you would expect others would be reporting the problem.
It's really annoying, never come across this before.
Thanks for help, if anyone has any other ideas would be grateful.0
