Hello
My boyfriend has sold an iphone on ebay tonight. The buyer asked for it to be posted straight away today which we did after we received the payment into paypal. Now this evening about half an hour later the buyer has disputed the transaction, we have already sent the phone? What do we do here? Are we covered? We have sent the phone special delivery and have the tracking details, we are thinking of going to the address in the morning to try and intercept it as Royal Mail will not do anything. If we don't what happens? Has anyone else been in this situation?

Hi.....paypal will ask you to show proof of postage....which you have, and by tomorrow you should have proof of delivery too, so I can't see how it can be won in their favor.
Good luck, I'm sure you will get some better advice of others in the morning.Never put off until tomorrow what you can avoid doing altogether.:D0 -
what grounds for dispute did they give
was the address you posted to the one in paypal or one they gave you ??Ex forum ambassador

Thank you
I hope so, we have done everything by the book and sent it to the registered address with paypal, guess we just have to wait!

the address we posted was the one to paypal, the grounds of dispute are listed as.. this Reason for Dispute: Unauthorised?? not quite sure what that means though0

When you view the Payapl transaction was the buyer "Confirmed"....meaning the address you sent to it the address the credit card on file is registered with at the bank....hopefully it is.Never put off until tomorrow what you can avoid doing altogether.:D0

Yeah it does say confirmed next to the address in green0

Ok thats good, so in theory as you have posted to same address as in their bank details, then it would seem unlikely someone has used their account without their knowledge.....unless it's their own family....
Anyway I'll probablly get into trouble for giving out wrong information, so I'll leave it with those who will know much more than me to help you out....
Nightmare for you!....the swines!Never put off until tomorrow what you can avoid doing altogether.:D0 -
Hi OP.
If the transaction in Paypal said it was OK to send (the green tick) and you sent it to the address listed in the transaction you will be fine if you have the certificate/proof of posting.
Disputed transactions are either initiated by the card company, paypal or the account holder themselves. Under seller protection, if you have fulfilled the conditions you will be covered by uploading the certificate of posting.
Normally the dispute will ask you to wait, or to upload the cop. You must act within the timescales it gives, so make sure you have read the email thoroughly and follow the procedure to the letter.
Keep all your paperwork to do with the transaction for 180 days.
Please update here if you are asked to send/do anything and you are unsure.0 -
