At 11.30pm tonight I received a credit note for the council tax the council had been so nasty about. I can only presume DS has had his housing benefit reinstated. He does not believe me they never tell you. :j

As I have been used to having it stopped every time I get a pension rise before I find out they always stop your housing benefit even if you only got £1. reapplying takes about 3 month on average. This is why many private landlords will not take on people with housing benefit.

Council tax departments have a tendency to send you a bill the day before you get your rise.

DH with the aid of very tall DS is patching the ceiling in the kitchen, guess who is holding the board up

Today I thought brilliant a day to get downstairs sorted, just as I got into it DS came in with my broom head in one hand and what was left of the handle in the other hand aaaaaaaaaargh.

They are currently cleaning up the mess they have made the kitchen.

I HATE bacon, and all variations thereof. I hate salty food, bacon tastes rank to me. So many recipes seem to have gratuitous bacon added!
Growing up we never had bacon in the house either, so it's not just me.

Hmm... I hate pork (it's really greasy tasting), but could eat bacon and gammon all day.

I love bacon, pork, gammon, well our own produced anyway... totally different to what you buy in the supermarkets..


we run out of our bacon, and I didn't buy any for months... bought a packet .. and I can see why I don't buy it anymore.. ok for cooking with quiches or savoury muffins etc.. but def would not buy it as a main meat for a meal
