Do you guys know how much a solicitor would charge to write up a letter/legally binding doc to the ex about seeing our child? He's just had a week off, spent it doing whatever he pleased in london(mainly consisted of drinking) and now he claims he wont be seeing her for another 2 weeks. For the last 3 months he's seen her once a month! Getting really fed up of it, I need a break and some help but he doesn't care, his response is 'I'm not your babysitter' :(

If your entitled to benefits you should be able to get some free advice, although im not sure you can "force" him to see his children.

Im fortunate in that my Ex has always been heavily involved with the girls, but a lot of friends have had the opposite, the father bearly acknowledge their kids, sounds like your Ex is falling into this catagory :(

Maybe ask on the Families board, they may know more about his legal obligations.

Managed to balance the work shopping last week and got myself two 5p off a litre of petrol vouchers, so used one today which saved me £1.65. As I dont pay for my petrol for work but get given a weekly allowance means I have made £1.65 for myself.

Got a £4 off £30 shop voucher today so if I balance the work shopping again this week I should be able to get £4 worth of shopping for free and possibly two more vouchers for fuel.

Definitely post and ask on the Families board, and also I would get yourself down to your local Citizens Advice Bureau, as they will give you free advice.

Like MoneySpider said, I'm not sure whether you will be able to force him to stick to access agreements unfortunately :(
You may fine you are entitled to some Legal Aid to pay for the solicitor if it is something that is worth doing. When my OH split with his ex, he was on a fairly low income, and they take into account your 'necessary' outgoings, such as rent / mortgage etc, and he got Legal Aid for the solicitor (they were married, so obviously a bit more complex, and it was Him making sure that there was a legal access agreement in place so that she wouldn't be able to deny him access in the future.)

Unfortunately if he's been a total !!!! about things, there's not all that much a solicitor might be able to do for you when it's him NOT wanting to see the little one :(

Oh Beccie - that sound amazing. I love "different" holidays. Must go find the thread where you talk about your travels. Ever considered blogging them?

Nat - maybe your money might be better spent hiring a local reliable teen to give you some respite once in a while. :(
