tax credit question can anyone help

i work 24 hours a week and receive tax credits, now my son has reached 17 and started an apprentaship i need to work more hours to qualify.can i work self employed and employed and still receive tax credits

yes you can, but you need to make sure that its a 'proper' business venture.
HMRC are cracking down on the numerous 'internet sellers'0 -
I didn't think u could get tax credits for a child on an aprentiship as they are classed as working. As friends got stopped when daughter started a hair dressing one.0

yes aslong as you actually did it, perhaps something like Avon? You need to register as self employed and do tax return every year etc but its agood option0

Just make up a hobby business like betterware/avon/ebay...... thousands of others do. Apparently they pay little or no money, however there must be lots of demand for it as there are so many people choosing to do it............and I'm sure they would all still be doing it if it wasn't for WTC.......0
