Car insurance refund??

Hi,
I got my car insurance for approx £500 and stated that I had two years no claims bonus. I assumed they'd contact my previous insurer's to confirm this (as this has been done in the past) but I then received an email stating I only provided evidence of one year's NCB, and they were adding an extra £200+ to my policy. I called them and they in turn called my previous insurance company, who confirmed I actually had three years, not the two I believed I had, or the one year's NCB the new insurers thought I had. Although they added an extra £200+ to my policy when they thought I had one year's NCB instead of two, they now say I'm not entitled to a refund now they've found I have three year's NCB, "because the calculations differ from day to day". I'd have thought I'd be entitled to a small refund at least. Does this sound legitimate to you??

run some dummy quotes to see what sort of price you would be paying with the different amounts of NCB and if they don't refund you broadly in line with these then stick a complaint in and refer to the FOS if they don't see sense0
