ESA - impact on Working Tax Credit

Hello, I am wondering if anyone here can help me with this question? I am self-employed on a low income receiving Working Tax Credit each month.
Three weeks ago I became ill & unable to work, have a doctor's sick note & I am planning to return to work next week as I am much improved.
Am I entitled to ESA and how will it affect my Working Tax Credit allowance, if at all? Also would it affect Housing Benefit?
One other thing, can I claim for it now, even though my period of illness started 3 weeks ago?
I got ESA a couple of years back when I got the flu, but I was not claiming WTC then.
Any words of wisdom would be much appreciated! Thanks

ESA is an out of work benefit, you can't get both..I always take the moral high ground, it's lovely up here...0
